1Password: Password Manager + AutoFill Forms

Icon for 1Password

1Password is:

  • The most widely used password manager for Mac OS X.
  • The only password manager with integrated anti-phishing technology.
  • An automatic form filler with support for credit cards and multiple identities.
  • A highly secure database to keep track of web site logins, secure notes, identities, credit cards, bank accounts, and software registration information.

1Password can put your personal information and login in web forms either automatically or on your request. It stores information in the OS X Keychain where the password for your computer account are stored - it doesn’t get more secure than this. All the main functions can be accessed with mouse or keyboard shortcuts and it saves a huge amount of time, energy, and keystrokes re-entering information and remembering passwords.

I use 1Password in Safari and NetNewsWire, and it also works with FireFox other major OS X browsers as well as with the iPhone and iPod Touch.

  1. “The only password manager with integrated anti-phishing technology.”

Oops. Not really. I’m a PassPack founder, and I guarantee we have built in anti-phising. :)

PassPack is different in that it is an online password manager. You can access it from any computer, not just your mac. Makes traveling easier. It uses top-notch encryption and is built in a way that not even we can read people’s passwords.

    I hope you’ll give it a try (it’s free).
    Cheers,
    Tara

  2. It’s sneaky and camouflaged but there is a form filler in Safari. It is under the edit menu . It’s called AutoFill Form. It picks up info from yor address book. Tweak your own address card with extra information and it does an adequate job
