Aims and Goals

eMac in a manual wheelchairThis journal aim to be of interest to all OS X users and developers with an interest in disability.

Some of the topics we plan to cover are:
- Accessibility news about Leopard
- New and updated AT software
- AT hardware that works with your Mac
- Getting the most from your existing software in terms of accessibility
- Hints, tips and tutorials
- Coding accessible software

Much of the accessibility information available for OS X users and developers centres around the VoiceOver spoken interface for blind users. ATMac will include relevant information about VoiceOver, but other areas of accessibility will be covered in detail also. Some examples are: deaf users, users who need alternative input devices, using the Mac to control other inaccessible devices, and anything else we can think of!

Guest posts would be great, if something moves you to write - we suggest that you contact me first. Any other feedback is welcome at that address also.

Everyone is encouraged to comment on existing posts to add experiences, ideas, or anything else related to the post. You don’t have to have an account to make a comment - anonymous comments are very much welcome.
