Audio Flashcards Using Smart Playlists In Itunes

iTunes IconThere was a fantastic hint posted recently on the MacOSXHints website about setting up smart playlists in iTunes which can then be used in either iTunes or on an iPod for memorisation exercises:

In my iTunes library, I have a lot of oral exercises obeying the following scheme: question, pause, answer. I can now train on these exercises, and track my progress on my iPod, without a dedicated flashcard program simply by creating some iTunes smart playlists. My algorithm can’t compare to Leitner’s or SuperMemo, but it’s really better than nothing!

The hint goes into plenty of detail about exactly what to do, and the technique includes the playlists to make sure you spend more time on those exercises that you have more difficulty answering. Sounds like it would be great for memorising almost anything, especially for people who have an easier time learning with sound instead of print.
