Mail Act-On - Organize your mail without leaving your keyboard

Mail Act-On is a plugin for Apple’s Mail program which gives you the ability to assign a keystroke to almost anything you can do with a mail message. You can redirect mail, colour the subject line, label the message, or direct it to another folder:

The simple but innovative add-on for Apple’s Mail.app that helps you manage your mail [...] Give any Mail rule the Act-On Prefix and keystroke and it becomes an Act-On Rule.

Mail Act-On uses Mail.app’s own Rules for filing mail so if you already know how to use Mail Rules then you’re set. If you don’t, then open up Mail.app and select “Mail Help” from the Help menu, then select “Organising” and then “Managing messages using rules”. It’s a very handy way to file messages as they come in, as well as a way to set up Mail Act-On actions.

The version of Mail Act-On for Leopard is technically in a beta phase still, but I’ve been using it for months and never had a single problem so I think it’s fairly safe.
