Apple laptop as a hearing aid?

How to turn your Apple laptop with built-in microphone and GarageBand into a functioning hearing aid

Website: Using your Apple laptop as a hearing aid/sound enhancer

ATMac Comment: This is certainly a cute idea, but it’s extremely basic in terms of hearing aids – I doubt whether it would have much functional use for anybody with a disability.

On the other hand, if you’re hard of hearing and stuck somewhere with a flat hearing aid battery it would likely be better than nothing – is anybody game to try it? Let us know what happens.

@Jimmy: I haven’t heard anything since then. Have you tried this technique yourself with any luck?
