Thanks to Barrie Ellis for giving me permission to repost this eloquent video:

A “fixed point mode” would make it easier for switch users to use switches to repeatedly activate the same point on the screen – the same effect as touching the same spot on the screen. As the video shows, there are many situations where a user might want to repeatedly touch the same spot on the screen including many games and any other repetitive action such as turning the pages on a reading application.

I hope this is something that Apple considers adding to the switch access functions in both iOS and Mac OS X in the near future, it could help many users.
