Function Keys Mapper
AlphaOmega Software’s Function Keys Mapper guides you to set your function keys to launch applications or open specific files or websites. Here’s their blurb:
You want to quickly launch any application, open any file or any folder with the F1 to F16 function keys of your keyboard? You want to improve your efficiency by rapidly opening anything from your keyboard? Then Function Keys Mapper is what you need!
This application isn’t free, as previously-mentioned key-mapping application Spark is, and doesn’t do everything Spark does. So why would you want to use Function Keys Mapper? For those who aren’t geeks, you’ll find this application is much easier to set up.
If all you want is to be able to use F1 for your mail application and F2 for your browser or something similar, and technical things don’t agree with you to well, then I definitely recommend Function Keys Mapper to do the job.

I downloaded Spark to try. No instructions with it!
How do I set keys F13 - F19 which dont currently have a function - to something?
Also I read a post about a guy who used keymapping on a windows PC he used keys on standard keyboard to move cursor in certain directions. It seemed very complex.
What happens though if you just simply want it to type a letter ‘a’ for example instead of going 10 spaces to the left or something?
I currently have text/keyboard highlighted and a blank table, not sure where to start to try this out?
You’re sure right about the no instructions - looked everywhere! I hope the new article Creating Keyboard Shortcuts With Spark helps with everything you need
