Ghotit Seeks Mac OS X Developer

OS X Leopard LogoGhotit is a spelling checker especially designed for those with spelling and language issues, especially dyslexia. It will pick up, for example, the mistakes in a sentence like “I will meat you their tomorrow” where a regular spell checker would miss these as each individual word is correctly spelled.

Until recently Ghotit (pronounced “Got it”) has only been available on the website, but they’ve recently released a plugin for MS Word for Windows. Plugins for the Windows versions of Firefox, MS Outlook, and MS Explorer are due to be released shortly.

I’ve been contacted by Ofer Chermesh, one of Ghotit’s founders, about writing a plugin so Ghotit can be used by OS X users. He writes:

Ghotit is looking for ways to develop Ghotit plugins for Mac and I wonder if you will be willing to point me out to developers you think can
do the job.

Ghotit doesn’t have any financing and works with plugin developers on the base of revenue sharing.

Ghotit’s online service is free to use, but a login costuing US$10 per month is required to use the plugins. Educational institutes, however, will always be able to use the Ghotit plugins for free.

If you would be able to help with programming plugins for OS X, you can contact Ofer via email.
