I use an Otter Box case with built in easel for my iPad. It is expensive but well worth it as it is drop, impact and water resistant. I carry my iPad in a shoulder iPad case I cut the center out of so the screen can be accessed. I got the case I cut the center out of for under twenty dollars at a discount store. The RJ Cooper carry case is the same as the simplicity case which is sold by Amazon and other vendors for much cheaper. Thud far we haven’t had a need for speakers. I recommend the Otter Box case for anyone using an iPad who might bang, drop, throw, spill or drool on the iPad.

@Kate: Thanks for the pointer to the cases on Amazon – the brand name is “Simplism” I discovered. The idea of cutting an opening in a regular shoulder bag is a good one too, I’ll remember that!

Very interesting post! That arm mount might have some potential for me in the future. I’m hoping these rumors about a 7 inch iPad become true because that size might actually be a perfect fit for me. Time will tell.
