Apple Accessibility Events around NDIS New World Conference

Down here in Australia we’ve got the NDIS New World: Disability in the 21st Century conference coming up – it’s at the Brisbane Conference & Exhibition Centre during October 27 – 29 2015 and I am envious of all who are able to attend! There are also an Apple Technology House at the conference, and more Apple retail store events than you can shake a stick at – read on…

As part of that conference Apple will be hosting a “technology house” – a purpose-built interactive exhibit designed to showcase the latest accessible technologies. Split into five zones, the house demonstrates how assistive devices, apps and accessories can help you do more around the home and office. Apple Ambassadors will be on hand to explain how these technologies can transform the experience of a person who has accessibility needs.

But that’s not all: Every single Apple Retail Store in Australia will be holding an Accessibility Workshop on Saturday the 31st of October at 9:30am!

If you’re interested in attending any of these workshops, here’s what you need to do:

  1. Go to Apple Australia Retail Stores Page
  2. Select the Store that you’re interested in
  3. Scroll down the page to “Upcoming Store Events and Workshops” and scroll down to October 31
  4. Follow the “Reserve” link to reserve a spot for the workshop you’re interested in

David will share his story, and discuss how technology is changing the lives of people with low vision and blindness. You can also RSVP for this event.

If you go to one of these, remember to come and let us know afterwards how it went!

    • Since this is a blog and we have no “product”, I can’t answer your question as it makes no sense. If you find the website for whoever makes the product you’re interested in, that would probably be of more help.

  2. Was hoping you could point me in the right direction. Is there some site that can actually explain the accessibility aspects of Apple, mainly for iPad and Mac. I am unable to attend one of the workshops, But would like to know how the apple products can help my daughter, who has several disabilities.
