Scrolling tricks

For those who use the mouse as their primary input, getting the most out of it is important. Here’s some hints and tips you probably didn’t know about scrolling - there were even some in there that were new to me.

Most of these tricks will work for any mouse with a scroll ball or a scroll wheel or similar, as well as with the “two finger scrolling” that the newer MacBook touchpads allow. Be sure to read the comments, as there are plenty more ideas there - including suggestions on how to clean your Mighty Mouse’s scroll ball if it stops working.

If you’re using Apple’s Mighty Mouse—or possibly any third-party mouse with a scroll ball—there are a few spots where you can use its scroll ball that you may not expect.
