Simple: Zoom without smoothing

This entry is part 10 of 14 in the series Mac Accessibility 101

We’ve already covered how to zoom in to see screen details more easily. Normally when you zoom like this, the computer will smooth out the zoomed image so it doesn’t look “bumpy” or pixelated. Unfortunately, at a high level of zoom this can do more harm than good - it’s an individual preference that depends on your particular vision problems.

Luckily, there’s a way to switch off this smoothing if you want to - hold down command and option and press the backslash key. Press the same combination again to switch the smoothing back on.
