SloMotionX 1.0

SloMotionX IconATMac and Mac pour Tous are proud to release SloMotionX version 1.0 free of charge to aid the OS X disability community. SloMotionX is a utility program that can be used to slow down games - or other programs - to make them more accessible to OS X users with disabilities.

SloMotionX is simple to install and run; just drag the application to your Applications folder and double-click to start it.

The set up screen allows the user to choose which application to slow down, to select keyboard short cuts to use. Speed of the target application can be varied directly from SloMotionX or using keyboard shortcuts, and can be set anywhere from 100% to 1% of normal speed for maximum flexibility.

The value of SloMotionX can easily be seen by using it with McSebi’s free Pac-Man game. Try starting the game, then varying the speed to see the effect.

SloMotionX is currently localised in English and French - we hope to add more localisations as they become available.

  1. would this work for online gaming too?

  2. I’m pretty sure it wouldn’t work for online gaming, but it would depend on the game. If it’s a game you’re playing against other people it definitely won’t work. If it’s a Flash based web browser game or similar it might just possibly work. Why don’t you try it oand report back??
