I am an occupational therapist working with an autistic child. I have a MacBook and I am looking for programs to teach division. I found something online that reported the iTunes store has special ed downloads available. How do I find them and can I use them on my MacBook. I am not technologically savy, so please give me detailed instructions on how to achieve my goal. Thank you for your timely assistance in this matter.

Apps cannot be used on the mac they can only be used on the ipad and iphone, because most of them are touch screen based. you would have to buy a mac program for math. there are several math programs for the ipad/ipod. i pad works better because of the size and the landscape feature plus the ability to add the keyboard

My 12 year old with autism and aprxia uses assisted typing with an aide in school. I am fighting with the school to switch to multiple choice testing because the typing is so slow. I am looking for some sort of an add-on with large multiple choice letters, a,b,c,d, which he can press indepedantly for testing such as AIMS. He uses an IPAD with several apps but not of them are big enough letters for independant typing and are not raised with resistance when you press them.

    Hi!

Can anyone out there tell me if VoiceOver and Dragon Dictate for the Mac can be configured to automatically read the text Dragon Dictate displays on the screen when it converts speech to text? I am blind with limited use of my hands, and am considering switching to a Mac from a PC. This information would be helpful, and I can’t find it anywhere.

    Thanks for your help,

    Denise

Can anyone help with a problem I’m having when using Voicover to read text (on a Macbook Air, running OSX Lion). When I use the shortcut keys to read a line (VO+L), a word (VO+W) etc, it works fine. But when I use the command for the next line (VO+down arrow) or next word (VO+right arrow) the voiceover cursor jumps to the next area — down to the footer, or up to the ruler if I trying moving backwards. This problem occurs with all the ‘next’ or ‘previous’ commands for reading text. Any suggestions?

    Thanks,
    Mark

My mum in law was disabled bu stroke in 2004. She has been advised to keep her mind active, and she and her husband took a pc class, bought a desktop unit, connected to the Internet.

unfortunately, they just do not use it because it’s not portable or convenient enough. I showed them my iPad, and they were amazed it could all be in mum’s lap and she could read, email, surf the web, whatever.

My question is, is there any discount for so done like her? they spent ?$2000 on the pc and don’t use it!

    Thanks for any help
