Developing Accessible Applications

Apple logo in reflective blackSome information that may be helpful to developers in making their software accessible to all:

Accessibility Overview - from the Apple Developer Connection website. This document appears to link to all the ADC accessibility documentation. If you have XCode installed, the same documentation is on your hard drive in the Developer Documentation, although the website may have newer content especially as more OS features are released.

Accessibility-dev - The official mailing list for developers wishing to use Apple's Accessibility APIs. Not much traffic, but the list participants have a great deal of knowledge of accessibility.

Unfortunately, there is not many resources for programming accessible software available aside from these at Apple. The only one that I know of is:

PreFab UI Browser - Designed to help people who write AppleScript, it is also helpful for developers who want to test their application's accessibility. There is a free 30 day trial available.

If you know of others, please leave a comment and I'll add them here too.
