Are you like many people in this keyboarding age whose arms, wrists, or hands hurt from typing or mousing too much? Even if you don’t have full blown RSI or carpal tunnel, pain after using the computer too much can be disabling, and a signal that you may be in store for worse if you don’t change things. So what can you do?

BBAutoComplete adds word auto-completion to scriptable applications. You type the start of a word, press a key, and BBAutoComplete types the letters to complete the word. If BBAutoComplete guessed wrong, you can keep pressing the key to cycle through other possible completions.

Text expansion tools are exactly suited to automatically add the accents, graves, and acutes to words as you type. TextExpander offers a free expansion pack to add a list of accented English words automatically, but you could add them to any text expansion tool yourself.

Virtually all computer keyboards in English speaking countries are arranged so that the letter keys, if you read from the top-left, start of with QWERTY. What are the alternatives and why would you want to change anyway?

TextExpander is a great program for those who use a keyboard but want to save typing effort or keystrokes. It takes a bit of setting up to get it to work with you, but once you’re up and running it can be very useful.

AutoPairs modifies the behavior of certain keystrokes, to help you keep paired characters such as parentheses properly matched and save on key presses.
