VoiceOver, the screen reader for Apple’s OS X, has undergone a major update [with the introduction of OS X 10.5 Leopard]. This article looks at the new functions, and what that means for people browsing websites. I am not looking at VoiceOver in general, just how different aspects of web pages affect the experience when using VoiceOver.
Looks like useful information for sighted web developers about how VoiceOver is likely to render their pages audibly for blind OS X users. This type of information can be hard to find, so it’s a valuable resource. I hope Alistair has the time and energy to keep it updated as Leopard updates are rolled out and impact on Safari and VoiceOver.
